An active economic system of any society gives rise to the best society where there are facilities and social justice but the societies in which there is poverty become a pit of problems. Unfortunately, Pakistan is also one of the countries where the majority of people are suffering from poverty.
The sharp increase in inflation in the country, business in the private sector has been greatly affected due to which unemployment has also increased.
Especially the stoppage of work in the construction sector has had a very bad effect on the working class because most of the builders have stopped work and are planning to shift their capital abroad. The business community has stated the main reason for this is the increasing taxes in the country and the fall in the value of the rupee.
It is very alarming that poor and labor class seems to be wandering due to the lack of daily wages while the increase in starvation is being seen in the slums of the country, owing to which the incidents of mental problems and suicides also increased so the responsibility of which is imposed on all the stakeholders. Psychologists have identified poverty as the main cause of social inequality. As a result of that violence and killing are seen as a common thing which is increasing day by day. If it is not prevented, incidents of snatching food items from people may also start.
This should be a momentary concern for the politicians responsible for future planning. The sad thing is that the political parties do not seem to have any program to deal with this important social problem which is quite a dangerous situation. If the planners of the country do not take practical measures like the neighboring countries of India and Bangladesh to end the monster of poverty, then in the next few years the country may be go towards bankruptcy.
Here the planners also need to remember that out of the country’s population around 25 billion, more than 20 billions are living below the poverty line and this section is also increasing the population which is increasing the problems.
Due to the current situation, the social injustices then gap between the rich and the poor in the society is widening that gives rise to more deprivations. Therefore, the country’s leadership will have to think how these situations can be controlled, a Comprehensive planning is needed for this therefore, here is a need for the government to create employment opportunities to control poverty along with obtaining loans so that the youth can be freed from the mental disorder that otherwise leads them to delinquency and crime. Politicians should remember that poverty in the country has reached this level. If once the people rise up against the government then there will be no one to stop it. The proposed legislations will not work either.
It is remembered that the practical proof of the anger of the people in the country was seen in Kashmir last month, when the people went out of their minds. The same situation would be occurred in other parts of the country if the value of the rupee will not stabilized. Citizens have attached many concerns to the upcoming federal budget in June. In the past few days, the eyes of the public are also fixed on the surplus budget presented by the provincial government. If the promises made by these governments to the people are not fulfilled, then their condition may worsen. Certainly, Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif and the Chief Ministers of the all four provinces are also keeping an eye on the country’s situation, so they have to focus on giving maximum relief to the people that more debts could not burden them.
