SEOUL: In a surprising turn of events, a robotic civil servant working for South Korea’s Gumi City Council has sparked a national debate after what many are calling the country’s first “robotic suicide”. The incident happened around 4pm last Thursday and has left the community confused and grieving.
Dubbed the ‘Robot Warden’, the robot was discovered in a heap at the bottom of the staircase between the first and second floors of the council building. Witnesses described seeing the robot behaving strangely, “circling in one spot as if there was something there”, before its premature descent.
