DUBAI: Ruturaj Gaikwad made a significant leap in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings, climbing 13 places to break into the top 10 following his impressive unbeaten 77 off 47 balls during India’s dominant win over Zimbabwe in the second T20I.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan hold the fourth and fifth positions with ratings of 755 and 746 respectively.
Apart from Gaikwad’s rise, Indian batsmen Rinku Singh and Abhishek Sharma have also made notable gains.
Abhishek Sharma, who recovered from a duck in the first match to smash a stupendous 100 off just 47 balls in the second, entered the rankings at the 75th position.
Ravi Bishnoi’s six wickets in the first two matches have moved him up eight places to 14th in the ICC T20I bowlers’ rankings, while Blessing Muzarabani has also climbed eight places to 55th after his impressive performance of 1/17 in Zimbabwe’s win in the first T20I.
In the ICC Men’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings, Wanindu Hasaranga has climbed to the top spot, displacing Hardik Pandya to the second spot.
India’s Washington Sundar entered the top 50, boosted by his quickfire 27 in the first match and his three wickets in both matches.
