Islamabad: SAP has appointed Saquib Ahmad as Managing Director for Bahrain, in addition to his current role leading operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. With nearly 25 years of experience in the regional IT and telecommunications industry, Ahmad will focus on supporting the digital transformation and AI capabilities of companies in the geographic area he oversees.
“The countries that Saquib Ahmad will cover represent an important growth market for SAP, especially in digital transformation, and we expect them to benefit from the enormous potential of Business. The North, to which Ahmad will be directly subordinate. During this time, he significantly expanded SAP’s presence in three countries, exceeding growth targets and hiring local talent to enable the digital transformation of customers in both the public and private sectors.
Commenting on his appointment, Ahmad said: “I look forward to expanding my mandate and expanding SAP’s presence in Bahrain, Iraq and Afghanistan, helping businesses here digitally transform and future-proof their operations. My focus will include expanding our partner ecosystem and helping equip young people with the skills needed in the digital economy. This role is very rewarding as it means that I can play a direct role in ensuring that this part of the world is at the forefront of technological development and supporting SAP’s goal of making businesses better and people’s lives better.
Ahmad holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications and Electronics from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, and has received the Aizza-e-Sabqat Presidential Award for Academic Excellence from the President of Pakistan. He also completed the LEAP Business Administration & Management Program at INSEAD in France
