For his latest collection, presented by the label as Lenora, Varun Chakkilam explored the opulent splendor of luminosity – light. With each ensemble, the brand brings a sense of its Hyderabadi cultural origins with a graceful yet playful range of clothing for contemporary men and women. As Lakme Fashion Week returns for its 49th edition in association with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the five-day extravaganza held from March 13-17, 2024 at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Center, Varun Chakkilam kicked off Day 4 . LFW with its stunning show. Sara Ali Khan was the showstopper of Chakkilam’s collection as she flaunted her burns while walking the ramp on Saturday. Sara had recently injured herself and had burns on her stomach. However, the actress has been busy promoting her films Murder Mubarak and Ae Watan Mere Watan. After walking the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week 2024, Sara Ali Khan shared, “I’m in awe of how the designer used luminous glass beads with contemporary shapes and intricate embroidery with aari work. The showstopper outfit is absolutely stunning. It is covered in handmade beading and embroidery, making it a stunning lehenga style that is contemporary.”
Sara Ali Khan wore a pearl gray embroidered lehenga with dori embroidery teamed with silver zari strings accented with glass beads and studded with Swarovski crystals. For a modern and chic look, the brand paired the lehenga with a Swarovski embellished bralette and floral components. As we all know she is the princess of Pataudi, to keep her royals alive, the brand paired the look with a veil.
The eponymous label’s upcoming line has taken its audience on a journey of sartorial splendor. The dazzling spectacle left an indelible mark on the audience and the vision of this collection transcended borders. Embracing an aura of effortless sophistication, it radiated a palette of pure whites to heavenly depths of endless grays with touches of burnt copper and earthy reddish-browns. Designer Varun Chakkilam hints at color trends from the runway: “I’m excited to share my vision. Lenora is all about light and we even took inspiration from the reflection of light. It translates into garments in the form of plush textures, hand-crafted by skilled handwork. Lenora weaves a tale of timeless enchantment.”
