ISLAMABAD: Following her valiant efforts to save a woman from a violent mob at Lahore’s Achhra Market, ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi and her family will receive a royal visit from Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki.
During their encounter at the Saudi embassy, when the ambassador received the courageous police officer, the diplomat reportedly informed ASP Syeda Shehrbano this, according to a source.
According to the source, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki praised the police officer’s bravery and assured her that the Saudi government will cover the cost of her family’s royal visit to Saudi Arabia.
He praised the ASP for her professional and selfless defusing of a potentially explosive scenario.
General Munir recognized the important role Pakistani women were playing in society at large.
“Pakistani women have made a name for themselves both domestically and internationally since independence, thanks to their talent, perseverance, and dedication,” he was cited as saying.
Syeda Sheharbano Naqvi has been nominated by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Usman Anwar for the Quaid-i-Azam Police Medal (QPM).
