SUKKUR : The president of the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) expressed disappointment and concern over the federal budget, calling the tax collection target “unrealistic” and criticizing the government for imposing additional taxes on taxpayers instead of implementing structural reforms.
The President said that the budget did not include the proposal of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to support export-oriented industries and ignored the provision of GST exemption for industries in the erstwhile FATA / PATA regions. oil, steel and pipeline industry.
The SC also expressed concern over the increase in income tax, its impact on the construction industry and the non-competitiveness of the textile sector due to high electricity tariffs.
