RAWALPINDI:- Former federal minister and head of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has expressed his displeasure over the protracted trial against him and has sought justice from the authorities.
“I am tired of these things and it is better to punish me,” he told the media outside the anti-terrorism court here on Wednesday.
Rasheed said he will appear in court today in all three cases.
He said that after the Panama Leaks, there was another scandal involving property in Dubai.
He said he expects a political crisis before June 30. The masses will do what they did in Azad Kashmir any other day.
He called for a commission of inquiry into the May 9 incident and “do what you want”.
“We have been facing a two-year lawsuit. Justice is denied in this country; it is mocked,” he said.
Talking about the founder of PTI, he said that he respects him; he is not part of PTI.
Apart from Rashid Allah, he expects the judicial system [for justice].
He said the public is optimistic about inflation; pay rent or electricity or child support. People will protest inflation like in Bhera, Rawalakot and Azad Kashmir.
Court case
Earlier, Rashid, his nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, Zartaj Gul and Seemabiya Tahir appeared before Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Malik Ijaz Asif on May 9.
His lawyers filed motions for acquittal in all cases. The judge adjourned the appeal until May 29.
The next court hearing will be held in Adiala Jail.
