Islamabad: Exports of services in the first eleven months of the financial year (2023-24) increased by 1.80 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data, service exports during July-May 2023-24 stood at $7.129 billion compared to exports of $7.004 billion in the same period last year.
During the period under review, the country’s service imports increased by 16.93 percent and registered $9.229 billion compared to $7.892 billion in the same period last year.
Exports of services from the country in May 2024 increased by 7.90 percent compared to the same month last year.
Services worth $687.91 million were exported in May 2024, compared to exports worth $637.54 million in the same month last year.
However, the country’s service imports decreased by 10.11 percent during the review period as it was $881.04 million against $980.17 million.
Month-on-month services exports increased by 6.48 percent and imports by 5.76 percent in May 2024 compared to April 2024 respectively.
In May 2024, exports of services were recorded at $687.91 million compared to $646.03 million in the previous month, while imports were recorded at $881.04 million compared to $833.06 billion in the previous month.
