During a panel discussion at the GSMA Digital Nation Summit, he emphasized the need for collaboration and innovation to bridge the gap and unlock Pakistan’s economic potential through accelerated digital transformation.

The GSMA also published a report, “Realizing Pakistan’s Aspiration to Bee a Digital Nation”, which details Pakistan’s progress in mobile connectivity and smartphones.
The report highlights significant progress in mobile broadband coverage, with 81% of the adult population now living in areas covered by 3G or 4G networks, a significant increase from just 15% in 2010.
Additionally, smartphone ownership has risen to 63% by the end of 2023. Despite these gains, only 23% of the population subscribes to mobile internet services, revealing a critical gap in connecting the unconnected.
