AHMEDPUR SHARQIYA: Shehbaz Sharif, president and former prime minister of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), highlighted plans for the development of South Punjab and addressed numerous issues while underlining party supremo Nawaz Sharif’s dedication to public service.
In a passionate speech at a public meeting in Ahmedpur Sharqiya, he presented his vision for a rejuvenated South Punjab under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership. Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged Nawaz Sharif’s previous accomplishments to public service and laid out a strategy for future development.
Shehbaz promised to prioritize the region’s concerns if the PML-N wins power. He expressed optimism that giving his party a chance will result in big changes for South Punjab.
The PML-N president outlined a detailed plan that included the establishment of an engineering institution in Bahawalpur and the elevation of Ahmedpur Sharqiya to district rank during Nawaz Sharif’s fourth term as Prime Minister. He also stressed the introduction of modern transportation in Bahawalpur and attempts to provide youth with skills for decent work.
The younger Sharif emphasized the importance of healthcare by vowing to build a high-quality hospital in Ahmedpur, Sharqia.
He reflected on the PML-N era, when roads were developed, the first university in Bahawalpur was established, and medicines were distributed free of charge in hospitals. Addressing farmers’ worries, he stated that if elected, the PML-N administration would provide subsidies to suffering farmers, hence promoting agricultural prosperity in the region.
