Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles made a triumphant comeback in gymnastics on Saturday.
Biles, 27, kicked off the 2024 Paris Olympics with a stunning victory in the United States Hydration Classic, according to NBC News.
The decorated American gymnast topped the all-around with a total of 59.5 points, her best since returning from last year’s Tokyo Olympics.
Biles showed unparalleled skills, earning high scores in the floor exercise and vault category, while Yururchenko, now known as Biles II, executed double pike vault flawlessly.
Meanwhile, two-time world medalist Shilese Jones leads the uneven bars with 15.25.
Suni Lee was first on the balance beam with 14.6 points, while Biles scored 14.8 points.
Tokyo Olympic medalists Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey finished third and fourth, aiming to compete for Paris after failing to make the 2023 World Cup squad.
Also, 28-year-old Gabby Douglas, looking to make her third Olympic team, withdrew after struggling on the uneven bars.
The winner of the June 27-30 Olympic Trials will join the Paris team with four members selected by the selection committee.
The top contenders will advance to the national championship in Fort Worth, Texas, from May 30 to June 2.
