The death toll due to heavy rains in Balochistan in the past five days has risen to six and 25 people have been injured in various incidents in the province, reports said on Sunday.
The province’s Natural Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said the N-70 highway, which connects the province with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was closed.
Also, PDMA informed that a large number of vehicles are stuck in Dhana Sar due to landslides due to heavy rains in the Koh-e-Sulaiman mountains of eastern Balochistan.
PMD said vehicles coming from Peshawar, Swat, Islamabad and Pindi were directed to stop at Dera Ismail Khan and Zhob-DI Khan road was blocked due to rain at Dhana Sarda obob and Sheran.
Meanwhile, the administration of Zhob and Qilla Saifullah has ordered to stop the flow of traffic.
The PMDA also said that teams have been dispatched for rescue and relief operations related to the stranded tourists.

Earlier this week, moist currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal moved to the south and east of the country, with strong winds and thunderstorms heading towards Sindh and other provinces, the press service said.
This is not the first time in 2024 that heavy rains have caused deaths and landslides in Balochistan, because in April this year, a state of emergency has been declared by the Provincial Government due to continuous heavy rains that hit several districts of Baluchistan. , killing and injuring several people.
Earlier, the provincial port city of Gwadar was hit by heavy rains in March, prompting Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to announce an aid package during his visit to the city where more than 40 people died in various incidents due to heavy rains.
