LAHORE: Six people have been killed and possibly injured in rain-related incidents in the last 24 hours.
According to a report issued by the PDMA, 39 people died and 113 others were injured due to the rains in July. According to the PDMA, 61 houses were damaged and 39 animals were killed. PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia said that as per instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, financial assistance will be provided to the bereaved families. Citizens are asked to stay away from old and dilapidated buildings, he added. He advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel in bad weather conditions.
From July 30 to August 4, Mangala on the Jhelum River may experience moderate to high floods. Flood situation may also occur in Marala, Khanki and Kadirabad on river Chenab.
