PESHAWAR: Superintendent of Police, City Division Tayyab Jan on Thursday held a special meeting with representatives of business community and presidents of markets for security measures on Hazrat Ali Martyrdom Day.
He said the business community is the backbone of the country’s economy for which the police’s priority is security, a peaceful and conducive environment.
He appreciated the business community for their cooperation at every opportunity with the police and other government machinery.
He said that police officials are in touch with all schools of thought and concerned persons of all sects to maintain an atmosphere of brotherhood and inter-faith harmony.
He said the security of Imambarghas, processions and gatherings would be monitored using CCTV cameras.
BDU officials along with sniffer dogs would be deployed to deal with any unpleasant situation.
Checks would be carried out at all entrances and exits from the city, security service would also be carried out by plainclothes security personnel.
The meeting was attended by ASP Hashtangari Ali Abdullah, DSP Noor Wahid Khan, Police Station SHO Khan Raziq Salim Khan, representatives of the business community and traders.
