Karachi: As a result of the efforts of the Karachi youth under Tagwood, the experiment of cultivation of Ajwa, Mazafati and Asil dates in the barren and waterless deserts of Tharparkar has been successful. Out of 500 trees planted in Diplo, Khawari and Dahli districts, 200 trees have harvested fruit.
To bring good fortune to the local greenery of Tharparkar, young people associated with Karachi have expanded experimental plantations in barren and waterless deserts such as Lak and Gia. An attempt to grow different types of dates from groundwater was successful. The success of the experiment could revolutionize agriculture in the Thar Desert.
Date trees cannot be found in the vast and vast deserts of Sindh. Six years ago, a social organization in Karachi started experimental cultivation of dates. Mango trees were planted in various districts of Tharparkar, Punjab, Khairpur and Dera Ismail Khan.
