Pakistan edged closer to the 2024 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup final after beating Canada 5-4 in Ipoh, Malaysia on Wednesday.
Pakistan are unbeaten so far and are at the top of the table with 10 points after four matches.
Canada took a 2-0 lead in the first 17 minutes to put Pakistan away. However, the green jersey made a great comeback to win 5-4.
Abu Bakr Mahmood scored the first two goals to bring his team back into the Pakistan game.
Arshad Liaqat, Rana Waheed Ashraf and Ghazanfar Ali also scored for Pakistan.
Dhawan Davis won for Canada, while Harbir Sindhu and Avjot Buttar scored one goal each.
If Japan defeats Malaysia today, Pakistan and Japan will enter the final of Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2024.
Yesterday, Pakistan and Japan drew 1-1 with the equalizer in the dying minutes.
Earlier, Pakistan defeated Korea 4-0 in the second match on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Pakistan beat Malaysia on Saturday with a last-minute winner by Abu Bakr Mahmood. The nine-goal thriller featured the best goal as the Green Shirts ran out 5-4 winners after 60 minutes.
Pakistan’s next match is now against New Zealand on May 10 at the same venue.
