LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that she will ensure supply of fertilizers to the farmers at all costs.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reviewed fertilizer requirements and availability in the province. In the briefing, it was reported that the demand and production of carbamide fertilizers in Punjab is around 6.5 million tonnes.
Maryam Nawaz said that she was satisfied with the decrease in the price of fertilizers and ordered strict and effective measures to prevent hoarding.
In the meeting, he emphasized the need for foolproof procedures to ensure the availability of fertilizers for farmers. The Chief Minister ordered to implement effective digital monitoring of fertilizer supply from the factory to the dealer.
Proposals to amend laws on pesticides and fertilizers were also discussed in the meeting. The decision in principle was made to create a special phone number for Kisan card registration.
CM Maryam said that fertilizers will be provided to the farmers of Punjab. He said, any negligence in preventing the storage and smuggling of fertilizers will not be tolerated and the interests of every farmer will be protected.
