SWAT: The Swat police have launched two different FIRs against the Madyan incident and nominated person guilty of blasphemy and mob damaging police station and police vans in the Madyan area of Swat district last night.
DPO Swat Dr. Zahidullah has confirmed that the police have found important evidence regarding the blasphemy.
He said that the police have registered two different FIRs. An FIR has been registered against the alleged insolent Sulaiman resident of Sialkot who was killed under blasphemy and against the mob for damaging government property and other provisions.
DPO Swat further informed that currently the situation in Madyan is completely peaceful and all the markets and bazaars are open and life is going on as usual.
He denied that tourists are not allowed to come to Swat or they are being stopped, added that “during the incident, the police had stopped the tourists so that they would not suffer any harm and later they were released,”
According to the police officials, 37-year-old Muhammad Sulaiman, son of Qamar Aziz Sukna Mohalla, Park Pura, Sialkot district, took a room in Skyways Hotel in Madyan on June 18.
On the second day of his establishment, the news of his committing blasphemy spread like wildfire in the area and a mob of people surrounded him.
According to SHO Madyan Islamul Haq , when he got the information, he reached the spot and saved Sulaiman from the crowd and shifted him to the police station.
Meanwhile, people made announcements and reached the police station and surrounded the police station. During this there was aerial firing and stone pelting. In which eleven local people and five police officers were injured.
The angry people set the police station and vehicles on fire. They tortured Sulaiman who was inside the police station and later burnt his dead body on Kalam Road.
According to the police, some of the remains of the burnt body of the deceased have been seized by the police and sent to the laboratory for DNA.
On the other hand, the local people have made it clear that if the police take any action, they will be forced to protest on the streets again.
