SWAT: The police has started a crackdown against the accused involved in the killing and arson of Madyan incident in Swat district and at least 22 accused named in the FIR were apprehended.
A case has been registered against 2000 to 2500 mob including 49 named accused in the FIR.
While giving a media briefing, Head of joint investigation team (JIT), SP Investigation Swat Badshah Hazrat Khan, established to bring the Madyan tragedy investigation to a logical conclusion, said that the police have so far arrested 22 persons nominated in the FIR.
Apart from the named accused, action is going on to arrest the co-accused and help is being taken from the videos in this regard.
SP Investigation Swat further said that the police took the accused Sulaiman into custody and shifted him to the police station keeping in mind the sensitivity of the situation and time and every possible effort was made to save him from the mob, added that the angry mob demanded the handover of the accused( Sulaiman) and on refusal, the police station and vehicles were set on fire'” he said.
He further said that the aggressors rescued the accused from a secret place and attempted to torture him and later killed him.
” A lot of material has been recovered from the living room of the accused and further investigation is being done in this regard,” he said.
SP investigation said that a case of blasphemy has been registered against the accused Sulaiman resident of Sialkot district and the JIT is investigating every angle and every angle.
He said that a case of anti-terrorism including murder, attempted murder and arson has been registered against the mob.
