SWAT: The Swat Qaumi Jirga,was demanded the establishment of complete peace in Malakand Division, reiterated its determination that peace will not be allowed to be sabotaged under any circumstances.
Malakand Division do not condone the imposition of any kind of tax and will not allow any kind of custome to be imposed.
In this regard, the Grand Jirga was held at the Swat Press Club at the divisional level in which Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party co-chairman and head of Swat Qaumi Jirga Mukhtiyar Khan Yousafzai, ANP leader Brigadier (R) Mohammad Salim Khan, former MNA of Pakistan Peoples Party. Malik Azmat Khan, President of Swat Bar Saeed Khan, Hamidul Haq of Jamaat-e-Islami and National Assembly candidate Akhtar Ali Khan, Sherzada Bahadur Khan of Qaumi Watan Party, Dr. Khalid Mahmood of Traders, Tehsil Nazim Kabal Saeed Khan Dherai, Wajid Ali Khan of PML-N, JUI Ameer Qari Fathatullah and other local leaders participated.

While addressing, they said that the establishment of complete peace in Malakand Division is our fundamental and constitutional right and we will not compromise on the peace situation.
They said that Malakand Division is a tax free zone under the Constitution of Pakistan and our blunt demand is to restore the constitutional and separate status of this division and maintain it as a tax free zone, otherwise we will be unwilling and strongly resist the imposition and payment of any tax.
” There is a conspiracy to occupy the mountains and forests of Malakand division in the name of Survey of Pakistan, but we will not allow our forests and mountains to be a victim of the conspiracy.They said.”
The Jirga leaders said that Swat Expressway Phase ii should be built on the banks of the river instead of agricultural lands, but if the government tries to forcibly grab the agricultural lands, we will strongly oppose them and bring people to the streets.
” The ncome tax is collected from us in the purchase of various items and now try is being made to implement the customs act by abolishing the facility of non-custom paid vehicles, but we are not ready to implement the customs act and tax in any case and will strongly resist against.” They concluded.
