SWAT: Deputy Commissioner Swat Shahzad Mehboob has said that the cooperation of religious scholars, lawyers, social leaders, business community and elders is indispensable in promoting peace and order, social development, stability and tolerance in the society.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar organized under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Center of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism on the topic of “Role of Ulemas and Elders in Social Harmony and National Unity”. Regarding highlighting the role of religious and community leaders, this important event was hosted by the district administration of Swat, while Chief Khatib Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi, Additional Director General KPCVE Kashif Irshad, participated in the seminar. Senior officials of various departments, police representative, scholars, teachers, Tehsil Khateeb, President of trader’s federation, President of Hotels Association Swat, Maulana Muhammad Siddiq Darul Qur’an, Assistant Qazis, Mahtamim Darul Uloom Swat, Advocate Samreen Hakeem, representatives of social organizations, leading elders of different areas of Swat, media and representatives of KPCVE also participated.
During his speech at the seminar, the Chief Khatib Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi said that Islam teaches peace, to achieve which people of all schools of thought have to remove their grudges so that our region, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, can be peaceful again. To become the center of peace and prosperity.
On this occasion, Kashif Irshad Additional Director General KPCVE said that people’s active cooperation will help in promoting peace and order in the society.
President Traders Federation Abdul Rahim, Hotels Association Haji Zahid Khan, Dr. Khalid Mehmood, Fazal Rahman Nono, scholars and assistants Qazian also expressed their views in the seminar that they will play their full role in establishing a peaceful and stable society، will stand by the side of the administrative bodies. They said that the people of Swat are peaceful people and hate extremism.
The scholars said that they will convey this message to the society and provide full cooperation regarding peace and prosperity in the region.
