Washington DC Meanwhile, a database of Pakistani-trained IT professionals/personalities has been compiled to connect with Pakistani-American tech entrepreneurs, especially in Silicon Valley.
Additionally, a platform has been created for Pakistani freelancers to provide better job opportunities in Pakistan and around the world.
This was stated by a group of IT entrepreneurs who invited Ambassador Masood Khan at the Pakistan Embassy. The group included Hira Khan, Adil Khan and Nadeem Sheikh.
Addressing the ambassador, the delegation said that “Certified Cloud Application Generator AI” was launched on the initiative of the Governor of Sindh. AI and computing startups announce free contributions to advance knowledge, research and business opportunities in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, BlockChain, Internet of Things and Cloud Native Computing.
The group expressed its desire to establish a National Technology Incubation Center in Karachi and other parts of Pakistan and produce low-cost software products in Pakistan for export to the United States.
Speaking on the occasion, Nadeem Sheikh, Supreme Court lawyer, Chairman of Adalat Helpline International and member of Pakistan Council on Foreign Relations briefed the Prime Minister on the work of Adalat Helpline International and Pakistan Council on Foreign Relations. He said that Justice Helpline International has been providing legal services to Pakistanis domestically and internationally while also providing substantial assistance. The Sheikh said the organization had helped repatriate some poor Pakistanis imprisoned in foreign jails. Justice Helpline International is also helping Pakistani students in Kyrgyzstan, he said.
Sheikh said that Adalat Helpline International is planning to present the Nishan-e-Adalat award to 10 outstanding Pakistani-Americans from various walks of life in the United States.
Appreciating the initiatives taken by IT entrepreneurs, Ambassador Masood Khan said that Pakistan has witnessed good growth in the technology sector, especially in fintech, healthcare and technology-related areas such as transportation and real estate.
He pointed out that Pakistan’s IT exports have reached $4 billion.
He said that the US is a major importer of Pakistani goods. The export of IT and IT services to the US in the fiscal year 2022-23 is estimated at $1.4 billion, the ambassador said.
Noting that Pakistan has leading international IT corporations such as HP, DELL, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, NCR, Teradata and Google, Masood Khan said the change was driven by the digitalization of the economy, e-commerce and improved supply chain. Technology startups are particularly successful in fintech, retail, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, telemedicine, education, food and transportation, he said.
The Ambassador also welcomed the intention to produce low-cost software products in Pakistan for export to the United States.
He said that Pakistan can be used as a manufacturing hub not only for the US but also for Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
He urged the delegation to expand investments and programs in Pakistan and assured the Pakistani embassy in Washington and all Pakistani consulates in the United States.
