LAHORE: The integration of technology into various industries is a catalyst for sustainable development, economic growth and social transformation.
Honorary Consul of Kyrgyzstan Meher Kashif Isunis expressed this view while talking to reporters here on Thursday.
He said that developing technology is very important for Pakistan as it strives to accelerate its development and improve its standard of living.

Meher Kashif said that one of Pakistan’s biggest assets is its young and dynamic population, which accounts for 64 percent of the total population, adding that one of the key areas where technology can have a significant impact is education.

Supporting start-ups and technology businesses through sound policies, incubation centers and funding can make Pakistan the center of technology innovation in the region.
“To realize these benefits, we must overcome some challenges such as digital divide, inadequate infrastructure and lack of digital literacy,” he said, suggesting investment in high speed internet, reliable electricity and comprehensive digital investment. Literacy programs are important to ensure that the benefits of technology are available to all segments of society.
