In the important match of the Cricket World Cup played in India, Pakistan’s batting line-up proved to be a wall of sand and all the claims made by Babar Azam and the team management proved false, in which they said that team will compete durable with India.
In the match played in Ahmedabad on Saturday, the national team was bowled out for just 191 runs, due to which the cricket fans had to face a lot of disappointment. It should be remembered that the fans of both sides were expecting a traditional thorny contest but the world number one team disappointed everyone by playing like jokers.
Pakistan’s batting was looking absolutely club level and it looked like, the national team had entered the field for the first time. When the match started, Pakistan’s first wicket fell on 41 runs when Abdullah Shafiq was dismissed for 20 runs, then Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed for 39 runs for a total score of 73 runs, after which the only partnership between captain Babar Azam and Rizwan was carried which took the score to 155, but on that right occasion the captain Babar Azam lost his own wicket in a very strange way. Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan established a partnership of 82 runs for the third wicket but Babar got out after scoring 50 runs while Rizwan scored 49 runs.
After that, no Pakistani batsman could compete with the Indian bowlers. Saud Shakeel scored 6, Iftikhar Ahmed only 4, Shadab Khan 2, Muhammad Nawaz 4, Hasan Ali 12 and Haris Rauf returned to the pavilion scoring 2 runs. For India, Mohammad Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja took 2,2 wickets each.
Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram, Moin Khan, Shoaib Malik and former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq including former England captain Morgan, former PCB chairman and commentator Rameez Raja, Shoaib Akhtar, Sachin Tendulkar and Ravi Shastri have criticized Pakistani squad, they expressed surprise and anger, while a wave of anger has spread amongst the fans.
While some fans are also criticizing the visit of chairman PCP ,zaka ashraf to India on social media, that the players were under pressure due his meeting before match. He should not have visited before the match. While some fans have accused match-fixing, but according to former experienced players, the Indian bowler bowled with great experience on a slow wicket, which Captain Babar Azam and anyone else did not understand. However, according to former captain and all-rounder Shoaib Malik, you have to stand one step ahead on the slow pitch so that the ball does not go out under your bat but In that match Pakistani players were playing just like the club kids, as did not knows the ABC of the cricket.
On the other hand, when Pakistan’s bowling came, the bowlers had lost the match before playing and they bowled very badly which was also criticized by the legendary Wasim Akram. While his partner of the time great fast bowler Waqar Younis kept biting his nails in the commentary box.
According to cricket commentators and experts, if Pakistan’s bowling side had imitated Indian bowling in the true sense, they could have given the impression of a low-scoring match by getting out eight players or so and making the match at least listenable, but our bowlers were completely seen lifeless.
India achieved the target at the loss of just three wickets in thirty overs.
After losing the match, the morale of the Pakistani squad has once again gone down, which had improved a bit after defeating the weak Sri Lanka. Therefore team Pakistan will have to work hard once again to get out of this defeated situation. There are still six matches left, if Pakistan’s batting line including captain Babar and especially the spin department play hard then a place in the semi-finals can be made.
Now it has to be seen how many surprises will be given to the fans in the upcoming matches by team Pakistan.
