Rawalpindi district government has taken all measures to ensure the safety of visitors and especially during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
According to the police administration spokesperson, Rawalpindi city police officer Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani has instructed the concerned officials to do their best to avoid traffic jams and accidents during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
The spokesperson informed that a special team has been formed to facilitate the tourists and that parking of vehicles is not allowed outside the parking lot. A complete ban on illegal parking has been introduced in Murree.
“During summer, Murree’s pleasant weather attracts many tourists, so motorists face traffic jams,” he said.
The CPO said he has advised tourists to avoid illegal parking, double lanes, speeding and selfies in the middle of the road.
He said that special plans have been drawn up for Murree, where more than 1,000 personnel, including more than 700 police officers and more than 300 CTP personnel, have been deployed to facilitate the visitors.
Murree Tourism Police jawans are also present at various points for the convenience and protection of tourists.
District administration, district police and CTP have taken strict measures to ease traffic flow and facilitate tourists in Murree under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Officials of district administration, district police and CTP were present at the site to monitor the situation. According to him, all measures are being implemented to ease the flow of traffic and ensure the smoothness of vehicles on the Murree road.
Senior police officers including SP Saddar, SDPO Murree and DSP Traffic Murree were present in Murree and reviewed all the arrangements. SP Saddar visited various areas and inspected all arrangements.
He said the flow of traffic is under full control in Murrid due to the strict steps taken by the concerned authorities.
He said, “Murree has parking for only 3,500 vehicles and urges tourists to follow traffic rules to avoid traffic jams or untoward incidents.”
The spokesperson said that Rawalpindi District Police, City Traffic Police and Murree Tourism Police are working around the clock to facilitate the tourists, adding that in case of emergency they can contact the police on phone number 15 or Murree Tourist Police on 1757.
