SWAT: In Swat district Constituency PK-4, a tough competition is expected between the political parties in the February 8 elections. In this constituency Dr. Haider Ali Khan of People’s Party, Azad candidate (Tehreek-e-Insaf) Ali Shah Advocate, Sardar Khan of PML-N, Mahbub-ur-Rehman of Tehreek-e-Insaf parliamentarians and Syed Qamar of JUI are expected to fight in this constituency.
The total number of registered votes in this constituency is 170903 including 92042 male and 78861 female voters for which 117 polling stations and 384 polling booths will be constructed.
In the 2018 elections, Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Dr Haider Ali Khan won from this constituency by getting 18569 votes. Sardar Khan of Muslim League-N got 13103 votes and independent candidate Mehboob-ur-Rehman got 9981 votes. As in the 2018 elections, Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Dr. Haider Ali Khan was elected from both the national and provincial seats, due to which he resigned from the seat of the provincial assembly, for which later by-elections were held, in which Sardar Khan of Muslim League-N Won with 16859 votes.
Sajid Ali of Tehreek-e-Insaf secured 15,696 votes and independent candidate Mahbub-ur-Rehman secured 8,384 votes.
In the 2013 elections, PML-N’s Qaymos Khan won from this constituency by getting 10687 votes. JUI’s Ali Shah Khan Advocate got 10302 votes and ANP’s Dr Haider Ali Khan got 10028 votes in second place.
Similarly, in the 2008 elections, ANP’s Dr Haider Ali Khan won from this constituency by securing 8064 votes. Qaymos Khan of PML-Q got 5305 votes and Muhammad Shahi Khan of PPP got 4541 votes.
In the 2002 elections, Maulana Mufti Hussain Ahmed of MMA won by getting 12540 votes. ANP’s Dr Haider Ali Khan got 6899 votes and PPP’s Syed Alauddin got 5383 votes. This constituency includes most of Tehsil Khawaza Khela and some areas of Tehsil Charbagh.
