DUBAI: Australia’s Travis Head has displaced India’s Suryakumar as the highest ranked batsman in T20I cricket.
Jumping up four points, Head is now in first place with a rating of 844, while the rest are second with 842.
England’s Phil Dooz (816), Pakistan’s Babar Azam (755) and Mohammad Rizwan (746) also dropped places to finish third, fourth and fifth respectively.
“Suryakumar Adadav has been the highest ranked men’s batsman in the T20 format since December 2023 and has been ranked No. 1 on previous occasions as well. But SKY’s lead is no longer due to Australia’s outstanding performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup,” he said.
Aussie opener Travis Head is the newly crowned leader of the rankings, having enjoyed an incredible run since cementing his place at the top of the national team’s order in the shorter formats.
“Sirah saved his best in the T20 World Cup, scoring a derby-winning 76 against India and playing more after Rohit Sharma’s big score for India”.
England’s Adil Rashid still leads the bowling charts, but Rashid Khan is second behind the T20 World Cup hero, while Josh Hazlewood has finished fourth behind Hasaranga.
“Some big names who have been underutilized by their country in recent times for various reasons gave the bowling list a bit of a boost. Kuldeep Adadav was 11th in 20 overs, his Indian teammate Jasprit Bumrah 24th with a brilliant 44 and England’s Jofra Archer again from the 38th wound from the 19th.
