Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir was unable to join the national cricket team when they left for Ireland on Tuesday due to a visa delay.
Despite being selected for the T20I series against Ireland and England, Amir faced travel hurdles due to visa issues.
Amir, who has permanent residency in the UK by marrying a British citizen, previously visited Ireland in 2018.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in active contact with Cricket Ireland and insists that it is the host’s responsibility to ensure that visas are issued on time.
Both PCB and Amir are awaiting visas, while the Pakistan team arrived in Dublin on Wednesday morning. UK-based Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali joined the team in Dublin.
The team will rest on Wednesday and begin the first practice on Thursday.
The first T20I match between Ireland and Pakistan is scheduled for Friday, May 10.
