KARACHI: Unity Foods, a leading company in Pakistan’s agricultural commodities sector, proudly launched the ‘Ba Ikhtiyar Kissan’ program through its subsidiary Unity Plantations. This pioneering initiative aims to empower farmers across the country by providing them with advanced technical skills in modern agriculture, high quality seeds and fertilizers. Unity Plantations aims to increase crop yields, strengthen financial independence and promote sustainable livelihoods.
To date, nearly 500 farmers from Unity Plantations’ corporate farming initiative have benefited from the program. The “Ba Ikhtiyar Kissan” program reflects an unwavering commitment to revolutionize agricultural practices and promote sustainable development. Farmers undergo continuous technical training, learning about the most modern agricultural techniques and technologies. This includes comprehensive education on crop management, weather conditions and disease prevention to ensure they achieve maximum yields and profits from their harvest.
Unity Foods also simplified the procurement process by cutting out traditional middlemen and Unity Plantations bought produce directly from farmers and provided immediate cash payments at fair market rates. This direct approach has greatly increased farmers’ profit margins, allowing them to reinvest in their land, educate their children, and improve their overall quality of life.
