UPPER DIR: The electricity bills of two sub-divisions in Upper Dir have reached Rs. 2 billion, while the total electricity bills of Upper Dir District have exceeded Rs. 3 billion. deputy commisioner consitituted a special committee under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Upper Dir, Irfan Ali Safi. The committee includes officials from WAPDA, district all the assistant commisioners, Tehsil chairmans and police department. The committee has decided to take strict action against those who do not pay their electricity huge amount of arrears . According to WAPDA officials, the education department is among the top defaulters of electricty bills.
A meeting was held at the DC Office Dir,under the chair of DC Iran Ali, which was attended by WAPDA officials, Additional Deputy Commissioner Amir Ali Shah, and other officials. The special meeting decided to form a joint plan to recover the electricity bills. A meeting will be held today at the Jirga Hall Dir, which will be attended by officials from WAPDA, DC Office, and other departments.
According to WAPDA exective engineer Hazrat Hassan , the defaulters will be persuaded to pay their electricity bills. If they fail to pay, their immediate electricity connections disconnected and will be lodge FIRs .

UPPER DIR: King Salman Relief Center has completed its relief work in Upper Dir, distributing relief packages among 9,000 flood-affected families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The relief packages included shelters, solar panels, blankets, plastic mats, kitchen sets, and water coolers. The management of King Salman Relief Center said that 9,000 individuals were affected by the floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, including Upper Dir, Lower Chitral, Swat, Charsadda, and D.I. Khan. The relief packages were distributed with the cooperation of National Disaster Management Authority, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, and Balochistan government. This step reflects the humanitarian efforts of Saudi Arabia to support Pakistan in difficult times.”
