Despite not signing the United Nations charter, Pakistan has been hosting Afghan refugees for 45 years. It was right, but despite this, Pakistan has made all kinds of sacrifices to support the poor Afghans but now these Afghan refugees have not only occupied the business and land here, but they have been found involved in sabotage in the society.
Due to which the government has decided that after a month, the process of arresting and deporting the illegal Afghan refugees living in Pakistan will be started.
In this regard, the caretaker interior minister Sarfraz Bugti has issued a statement that among the illegal immigrants in Pakistan who wants to leave by November 1, there will be no compromise.
He said that there was a discussion regarding the eviction of Afghan nationals in which all the stakeholders were present and it was decided to give a grace period to the Afghan nationals while there was a demand from many people that people should voluntarily evacuate.
He has also made it clear that he has been saying since day one that this is not just an Afghan-based policy, but it is about all illegal immigrants, regardless of the country they belong to. Action will be taken against, however, Afghan refugees with legal documents will not be forcibly sent back. We have not said anything to them, we are only sending illegal resident foreigners.
However, it is a fact that the largest number of Afghan refugees are in Pakistan, about which there are many concerns now, so the government has banned all illegal immigrants.
It has decided to treat the immigrants equally which is a great move. It has been revealed that some people are committing falsification even among the legally resident Afghans.
Recently it has come to light that some Afghan families have colluded with NADRA operatives and added their names to the fake family tree which is a very unfortunate situation.
This was disclosed by Nadra Chairman Lt. Gen. Munir afser in a briefing to the Senate Interior Committee. He said that actions have been taken against 84 officials on behalf of Nadra for issuing fake identity cards to Afghans. Chairman Nadra said that the fake documents. The records without fingerprint or photograph were tempered by the officials due to which actions were taken against the officials.
He said that NADRA has established a transparent and robust system to prevent fake identity cards which is welcome for such officials. After being punished, no one will commit the crime in the future.
Apart from this, Afghan refugees have also been found involved in crimes in different cities, which has had a very bad impact on the Pakistani society. Therefore, it has become necessary to take strict legal action against these Afghans and expel them to settle in their own country Afghanistan. For that purpose the United Nations and other human rights organizations should help Pakistan so that Afghans can be sent home easily.
Some citizens fears that this operation may be stopped again because it has happened in the past as well, due to which they are not willing to go back to Afghanistan.
It is hoped that the government will fulfill its promise on this so that the distortions in the society can be corrected. If this time the government succeeds in sending the Afghans the burden population of this on the country will also be reduced.
