SWAT : Head of the Political Economic Section of the American Consulate at Peshawar, Mr.Dustin D Grand visited Swat District here on Thursday. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Swat Shahzad Mehboob warmly welcomed him and his team.
During his visit , Mr. Dustin D Grand also attended a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Swat Shahzad Mehboob at Saidu Sharif..
Additional Deputy Commissioner General Sohail Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner Abrar Wazir (Relief and Human Rights), Deputy Director Upper Swat Development Authority Kiramat Ali, District Sports Officer, District Youth Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and Superintendent of Police Department and other important officials also attended this important meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Swat Shahzad Mehboob gave a detailed briefing about the historical and geographical importance of the famous tourist and historical places and cultural values of Swat district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief and Human Rights) Abar Wazir briefed Dustin de Grand on the devastating impact of the 2010 and subsequent 2022 floods in Swat district, loss of life and property, destruction of public infrastructure, deforestation and other issues in the region.
“The law and order situation, tourism promotion, ongoing security and social welfare initiatives and the imperative need for child protection programs in Swat district were also discussed in the meeting.”
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Swat presented an honorary shield and a traditional Swati shawl to Dustin D. Grand as a gesture of goodwill, while Dustin D. Grand also presented a sheriff badge and other gifts to Deputy Commissioner Swat.
