Rawalpindi: Livestock Secretary Masood Anwar said that negative propaganda about chicken meat is spreading on social media. The rumor that chicken meat has no health benefits is completely false.
Broiler meat is an excellent source of protein. It is classified as white meat, which is low in fat and high in protein, making it useful for maintaining normal physiological functions and preventing non-communicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. No adulterants are used in broiler meat production, and broiler feed is prepared in accordance with hygienic standards.
Director General of Research Punjab Dr Sajjad Kashfi said that broiler meat and eggs are very beneficial for health and especially play an important role in the development of children. Don’t listen to false rumors about broiler meat that are spoiled by propaganda.
Dr. Naveed Sahar, Director of Extension, Rawalpindi, said broilers should eat meat and eggs to live a nutritious and healthy life. Director of Poultry Research Institute, Rawalpindi, Dr. Sarfaraz Chatha said that common chicken diseases are not contagious to humans and 6 laboratories of the Livestock department are fully functional to detect all diseases and doctors are available for treatment.
According to livestock industry experts, the price of chicken meat has decreased in the last three weeks. Chicken meat is an important supplier of polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially omega-3 fatty acids, which are higher in chicken than beef, as well as some vitamins. The recommended dietary allowance of niacin can be achieved with 100 g of chicken per day for adults and 50 g for children.
