Islamabad: Weekly inflation, as measured by the Sensitive Price Index (SPI), decreased by 0.09 percent for the aggregate consumer group during the week ended March 28, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics said on Friday.
According to PBS data, the SPI for the week under review in the above group was recorded between 323.50 points and 323.20 points during the previous week.
Compared to the same week last year, SPI for the consumption group has seen a growth of 29.41 percent in the week under review.
Weekly SPI with base year 2015-16 = 100 covers 17 urban centers and 51 major items across all expenditure groups.
The SPI for the consumer group is Rs. 17,732-22,888, Rs. 22,889-29,517; 29,518-44,175 up to 44,175 down 0.22 percent, 0.17 percent, 0.12 percent and 0.03 percent.
During the week, 04 (7.84%) of 51 items increased in price, 18 (35.30%) decreased and 29 (56.86%) remained stable.
Among the items that saw a weekly average price drop were tomatoes (12.04%), wheat flour (3.80%), garlic (2.59%), LPG (2.42%), onions (1.74%). , potatoes (1.07%), bananas (0.77%), legumes (0.57%) and sugar (0.49%).
Products that saw price increases include LPG (1.49%), chicken (4.92%), eggs (1.61%), shirts (0.56%) and Irri 6/9 rice (0.15%).
Items include 5 liters (20.50%), banana (20.20%), vegetable ghee 2.5 kg (17.87%), vegetable ghee 1 kg (17.72%), mustard oil (14.02% ), diesel (2.47%), wheat flour (0.27%). %) and tobacco (0.06%).
