Islamabad: Weekly inflation as measured by the Sensitive Price Index (SPI) increased by 0.94 percent for the aggregate consumer group during the week ended June 20, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics reported on Friday.
According to PBS data, SPI for the week under review in the aforementioned group was recorded at 316.88 points compared to 313.93 points during the previous week.
Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for the combined consumer group increased by 23.78 percent in the week under review.
Weekly SPI with base year 2015-16 = 100 covers 17 urban centers and 51 major items for all expenditure groups.
At 17,732 rubles, the SPI for the lowest consumer group rose 1.58 percent to 309.10 points from last week’s 304.28 points.
SPI for consumption group 17,732-22,888, 22,889-29,517 rubles; It rose 1.44 percent, 1.20 percent, 1.11 percent, and 0.69 percent above $29,518-$44,175 and $44,175, respectively.
During the week, 25 (49.02%) of 51 items increased in price, 5 (9.80%) decreased and 21 (41.18%) remained stable.
Commodities that recorded average price declines during the week included petrol (3.76%), diesel (0.84%), broken basmati rice (0.08%), masor pulse (0.08%) and chicken ( 0.05%). ).
Commodities that show an average price increase in the week are tomatoes (65.84%), potatoes (5.61%), onions (3.78%), bananas (3.29%), LPG (2.44%) , cigarettes (1.67%). 1.53%), garlic (1.29%), fresh milk (0.95%), eggs (0.83%), georgette (0.28%) and shirts (0.17%).
Commodities that witnessed a decline include wheat flour (32.90%), chicken (20.60%), cooking oil 5 liters (16.17%), vegetables 2.5 kg (13.39%), vegetable ghee 1 kg ( 12.42%). , bananas (11.69%), mustard oil (8.24%), tea bags (2.52%) and gasoline (1.38%).
