The price is expected to be higher this year due to inflation and changes in transport costs in Pakistan.
The quantity of mangoes produced this year may be less than previous years. However, despite the challenges, many mangoes are exported to the UAE.
Mango in Pakistan ‘affected by climate change’. “Then exporters target other markets, then supply in the market slows down,” said Altaf.
He explained that mango exports to the UAE are usually at their peak during the first two weeks of the mango season, as exporters aim to send their shipments as soon as possible to increase demand for mangoes.
“The quality of mangoes from Pakistan is high and will improve in the coming months,” said MD Gulraiz Aseasen, managing director of the Pakistani supermarket chain.
Aseasen said climate change has affected mango production for years, but the impact is not as severe as it was five years ago.
