WHO, in collaboration with the Government of Norway, donated entomological surveillance equipment, research equipment and vector control equipment to the Academy of Health Services, Islamabad and Pir Mehr Ali Shah (PMAS) University of Dry Agriculture, Rawalpindi.
Students and field workers are provided with these materials, including advanced incubators, microscopes, autoclave machines, vortex mixers, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to effectively conduct entomological surveillance and vector control techniques.
At the event, Dr Luo Dapeng, WHO Representative in Pakistan, reaffirmed WHO’s commitment to continue fighting vector-borne diseases, especially dengue fever and malaria, to improve public health in Pakistan.
