Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that the federal government will open Daanish schools in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and Balochistan and Sindh districts, fulfilling the wish of Quaid-e-Azam to provide quality education to the future children of Pakistan from an economically disadvantaged family.
The school, which will be built on more than 30 hectares of land, will provide free education and accommodation to children from the capital and suburbs to provide equal opportunities for quality education.
Citing the alarming figure of 26 million out-of-school children as “criminal negligence”, the Prime Minister said that Quaid-e-Azam’s dream for Pakistan will come true without taking action to ensure education.
“There is no greater national service or fulfilling responsibility than enrolling out-of-school children,” he said, adding that the federal government would fully fund the cost of establishing a Daanish school in remote areas of AJK, GB. Balochistan and Sindh.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the federal government will declare an education emergency in the country and devote all resources to provide education to children, especially those from disadvantaged families.
He told a gathering of federal ministers, bureaucrats, heads of international organizations, education staff and students that the Daanish school project was started in the vision of PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif and the students are making an impact internationally in debates, sports and others. field
Commenting on the journey of the flagship project, the Prime Minister said that they have heard strong criticism of the initiative to support children from low-income groups to receive quality education at par with higher education institutions.
He also recalled that the PML-N government under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif had given laptops to students. In addition, the Punjab government then recruited around 200,000 teachers in the profession alone.
He said that the foundation of Daanish School in Islamabad will be laid and requested the Ministry of Education to complete it in 6-8 months. He also announced that he will personally inaugurate Daanish schools to be established in AJK, GB and Baluchistan.
Federal Minister for Vocational Education and Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui in his speech praised the vision of Daanish School and said that the scope of this project is extended to other parts of the country.
He asked the Prime Minister to declare an education emergency to address the problems and deficiencies in the education sector and every vacant building should be used for teaching purposes.
Comparing the aging countries of USA, Japan and Germany, he said that Pakistan is rich in youth population and the government should use its own resources and train them to enter the international market.
Amjad Saqib, chairman of the Benazir Income Support Program and Akhuwat Foundation, recalled the establishment of Daanish School aimed at overcoming inequality in society and praised the Punjab Education Foundation for the benefit of nearly 450,000 students in Punjab.
Focusing on the problem of out-of-school children, he said that poor parents also want to see their children educated and mature and hoped that the Prime Minister would play his part in changing their fate.
In his speech, Usman Akram, a student of Daanish School Engineering, Attock, said that Daanish School has played an important role in improving the literacy rate in the province by providing a quality education platform for students like him. low income group.
He said that the students of Daanish School are ready to play their role in national development and requested the Prime Minister to expand the institution in Pakistan.
