WANA: Hospital administration to celebrate World Oral Health Day, awareness seminar and walk was organized at District Headquarters Hospital, Wana, South Waziristan.
The goal of the event was to educate participants about the importance of oral care and to raise awareness about the spread of infections during dental procedures.
The event was launched by Deputy Commissioner Wana, Faisal Ismail, who serves as the chief guest and in his speech highlighted the importance of World Oral Health Day. He emphasized the vital role of oral health in overall well-being and encouraged participants to prioritize dental hygiene practices.
Dr. Asif Kamal, dentist, gave a comprehensive presentation on oral health care, shed light on preventive measures and proper dental hygiene techniques. In addition, Dr. Inayat Ullah, Infection Control Officer, informed the audience about the spread of infections during dental procedures and emphasized the importance of strict infection control protocols.
Dr. Hammad Mahmood, Medical Superintendent and Health Manager of DHQ Hospital Wana, presented the 2023 Annual Performance Report highlighting achievements and areas for improvement in health services.
The seminar was also addressed by Rahmat Ullah, President of Wana Welfare Association, who emphasized the role of community involvement in promoting oral health awareness and encouraging proactive health care practices.
After the seminar, there was an educational walk from the auditorium to the Emergency Block. Participants carried banners and placards decorated with slogans related to World Oral Health Day, spreading awareness among the community.
