Mardan. The newly appointed members, Board of Directors (BoD) Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) agreed to recommend, Engineer Adil Nawaz as chairman for the first meeting, while the formal approval of the chairman will be executed by the provincial cabinet. In the first meeting of the BoD, company secretary Farhan Ahmed welcomed and congratulate the newly elected members Board of Directors Haroon-ur-Rasheed, Javed Hussain and Mobeena Riazuddin on their appointment. General Manager Engineer Imran Zaman briefed the BoD that from January 2024 to June 2024 thirty three thousands, nine hundred and eighty five tons of garbage has been collected from the fourteen union councils of Mardan city and disposed of safely, while three hundred and four kilometers of drains in the city has been cleaned. Likewise, clean drinking water is provided to five thousand consumers three times a day through a one hundred and fifty nine km pipeline. The Company has installed SCADA systems in six tube wells and ten fuel sensors in vehicles to minimize the energy consumption with the supports of German Cooperation (GiZ). Imran told the company has already devised an energy efficiency policy for efficient use of energy and to reduce the cost.
Chairman Engineer Adil Nawaz and the Board of Directors expressed satisfaction on the briefing and stated that our mission is to make Mardan as a model city in terms of cleanliness and we will make sure to utilize all the available resources to achieve our mission. They stated that provincial government is trying to improve the living standards of the citizens. Keeping the environment clean is the national moral and religious duty of every member of the society.
