BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping’s just-concluded trip to Central Asia is significant for guiding the development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), deepening China’s good-neighborly relations with regional countries and promoting substantial progress in community building.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks during a press conference on Xi’s participation in the 24th SCO Council of Heads of State in Astana and state visits to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan this week.
President Xi attended the SCO Heads of State Council meeting as well as the SCO+ meeting and pointed out that the SCO stands on the right side of history, justice and fairness and is of great importance to the world, Wang said.
The Chinese President called on the SCO, facing new situations and challenges, to ensure security, protect development rights, consolidate the strength of unity, and strive to build a shared home characterized by solidarity and mutual trust, peace and tranquility, prosperity and development, good neighborliness and friendship, as well as fairness and justice, Wang said.
During a briefing on Xi Jinping’s visit to Kazakhstan, Wang said the heads of state of China and Kazakhstan reaffirmed their strong political will to support the building of a China-Kazakh community with a common future and made new plans to launch a new “Golden 30″. years” of bilateral relations.
China remains unwavering in its commitment to China-Kazakh friendship, its determination to advance cooperation in all fields, its determination to continue mutual support on issues related to each other’s core interests, and its confidence in both countries to realize their development goals, Wang added.
The two heads of state announced the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation in the new era between China and Tajikistan and building a community together with a shared future from a higher starting point.
President Rahmon has repeatedly said that China is a great neighbor of Tajikistan, Wang noted, adding that this time Xi’s visit is another important milestone in Tajikistan-China relations.
During Xi Jinping’s state visit to Tajikistan, he not only attended the inauguration of the Parliament Building and Government Building with the help of China with President Rahmon, but also awarded Rahmon the “Medal of Friendship”, China’s highest state award for foreigners, Wang said.
During his attendance at the SCO summit in Astana, Xi also held intensive bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other foreign leaders attending the summit, Wang noted.
Leaders of various countries expressed hope to learn from China’s management experience and accelerate the modernization process of their countries, Wang said.
They have made it clear that they firmly adhere to the One China principle and oppose any form of “Taiwan independence,” Wang said, adding that the leaders also highly praised the proposal to build a community with a common future for mankind and a series of global initiatives proposed by Xi.
