Younis Khan shares his thoughts after Pakistan’s crucial win over defending champions India in the Legends World Cup.
The inaugural edition of the World Cup 2024 (WCL 2024) is in full swing in England. Organized by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the T20 tournament begins on July 3 and will conclude with the final on July 13 in Birmingham.
On Saturday, champions Pakistan sealed their 3rd consecutive win in the tournament with a 68-run win over India in two matches.
In the post-match press conference, Isuni Khan addressed a reporter’s question about whether Pakistan’s champions, made up of retired cricketers, looked better than Pakistan’s current national team.
“It’s not like that. Our national team is very fit right now. When the team doesn’t win, things like that are said. We won, so people speak positively about us,” said Younis.
He said his goal is to win the tournament and give his fans something to enjoy, especially after Pakistan’s performance in the last T20 World Cup where many fans were disappointed.
