LOWER DIR: The youth affairs’ department in collaboration with the district administration organized a science exhibition for government and private schools and colleges at a private education academy at Khungi here on Friday. The students from more than 30 educational institutions across the district took part in the event. The additional deputy commissioner Abdul Wali Khan and Assistant Commissioner Timergara Dr Nida Iqbal participated as special guests while president of the private education network (PEN) Abdul Wadood, district monitoring officer education Tariq Jamal, district youth officer Malik Shahzad Tariq, social activist Izharul Haq Durrani, principals and teachers of various schools and colleges were also in attendance. Different stalls related to scientific information were set up in which the students showed keen interest.
Talking to the media the participants appreciated the district youth affairs department for arranging the event. They said the students could benefit from such activities if they were provided with the right opportunities and resources. The students of the Al-Huda School and College won the first position, the Dar-ul-Hikmat School got second position, the Iqra School Kitiari got the third position while the Government Girls Centennial Model High School Timergara and the Government High School Khungi shared the 4th position. The guests distributed shields and certificates among the position holders.
