UPPER DIR : A fIve days training workshop on Nutrition in Emergencies concluded at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal. According to details, the 5-day training workshop was organized by the Khyber Medical University and the Department of Pharmacy of SBBU in collaboration with UNICEF, in which practical training was provided to the students and faculty of SBBU on nutrition in emergency situations. Information was provided on the identification, symptoms, and treatment of malnutrition in children, as well as the necessary steps for prevention.
KMU’s Amjad Ali Bacha, Shujaat Faqeer, Dr. BB Hajeera, and Perkh Saeed provided practical training to the participants. The closing ceremony was attended by a large number of chairmen of all departments, Director Finance Sahibzada Murad Hussain, administrative officers, and students.
In his address at the closing ceremony, Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy Dr. Shujaat Ahmed thanked UNICEF and Khyber Medical University trainers and said that this training workshop was of great importance and would yield excellent results.
Training post-graduate and organizer Dr. Abidullah said that the students and faculty participated with great interest, and all the trainers provided practical training as well as shared their experiences and research. On the last day, Professor Dr. Ziauddin gave a detailed lecture on Nutrition Education, followed by a question-and-answer session.
