Islamabad: Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Pakistan, had earlier called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The Prime Minister thanked the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Emir His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani for their warm congratulations on his re-election as Prime Minister.
He said that Pakistan was proud of its close, brotherly relations with Qatar, with bilateral relations having the potential to become even stronger and more meaningful, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment. He emphasized that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which was established during his previous tenure as Prime Minister, is now functioning as an effective and productive mechanism to ensure that foreign investors can benefit from investment opportunities in Pakistan’s key sectors such as is agriculture, IT, mining, and minerals as well as renewable energy.

The prime minister praised Qatar’s contribution to the peace efforts in Gaza. He said it was disappointing that violence in Gaza continued during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Prime Minister fondly recalled his official visits to Qatar in August 2022 and March 2023. He invited the Emir of Qatar to pay an official visit to Pakistan and said that the people of Pakistan look forward to welcoming him in the near future.
The Qatari ambassador thanked the prime minister and said he would do everything to promote stronger ties between the two countries.
