Major General (R) Dr. Suhaib Ahmed, HI(M) has said as a chief guest in a regular meeting of Rotary Club Islamabad Metropolitan held here in Islamabad. During his detailed and comprehensive presentation on Autism and subsequently address to the audience, Major General (R) Dr. Suhaib Ahmed shared personal insights, emphasizing the need for increased awareness for those living with Autism. He highlighted that as a community, it is our collective responsibility to create an environment where individuals with Autism feel understood, accepted, and supported. By raising awareness and fostering inclusivity, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by Autism, he added.
Major General (R) Dr. Suhaib Ahmed, HI(M) has brought to light that in era of 90s there was no medical facility specially in public sector hospitals of Pakistan to address Autism and provide facilities to individuals with Autism. This is what he committed to make a difference; and took the initiative to establish the Autism Society, a pioneer organization dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support for those affected by Autism. Over the past decade, the society has made remarkable strides, becoming a beacon of hope for families grappling with the challenges of Autism
Since its inception, the Autism Society of Pakistan has grown exponentially, and today, they proudly announce that they are currently treating over 100 children affected by Autism and around 70 children have been sent back to main stream schools and colleges after providing them treatment. He also informed the audience that apart from environment parent’s role is also very crucial for kids with Autism and there is an equal need to provide training to parents of Autism children which can play an important role in addressing the burning issue. At the end the audience applauded the efforts of The Autism Society of Pakistan and especially the personal attributes of Dr. Suhaib Ahmed in addressing this important issue and giving hope to affected children.
