KABUL: Police in the Afghan capital said that an explosion on a bus on Saturday left two persons dead and fourteen injured.
The explosion happened in the capital’s Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood, an enclave of the historically persecuted Shia Hazara group, according to Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran.
on a statement, Zadran stated, “Unfortunately, preliminary information indicates that two civilians were killed and fourteen others were injured in the bus.”
“The police are looking into the incident, and the injured were taken to hospitals right away.”
The most recent explosion to occur in the neighborhood in recent months is this one.
ISIS, which views Shia people as heretics, claimed responsibility for an explosion on a bus in Dasht-e-Barchi in November that left at least seven people dead.

The number of bombings and suicide assaults in Afghanistan has significantly decreased since the Taliban put an end to their insurgency in August 2021, when they overthrew the government that the US had supported.
Still, a handful of armed organizations continue to pose a concern, such as the ISIS branch in the region.
