DUBAI: India’s star paceman Jasprit Bumrah, who was in spectacular form during the recently concluded Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, has been rewarded for his outstanding performance.
The 30-year-old right-arm fast bowler, who took 15 wickets in eight matches for the Men in Blue, won the ICC Player of the Month award.
He beat India captain Rohit Sharma and Afghanistan wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz for the top prize.
After receiving the award, Bumrah paid tribute to his family and the other two nominees.
It is a special honor for me after an unforgettable few weeks in the USA and the West Indies. We had a lot to celebrate as a team and I” I am delighted to add that personal honors to the list.
Meanwhile, Indian batsman Smriti Mandhana won the ICC Women’s Player of the Month Award for June, beating England’s Maia Bouchier and Sri Lanka’s Vishmi Gunaratne for the first of her international career.
