ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Naval staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf visited Thailand to attend eighth Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) Conclave of Chiefs at Bangkok. The occasion worried panel discussions on issues associated with cooperation in maritime safety of Indian Ocean and Blue economy- methods ahead for sustainable improvement of IONS participants.

Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) is an initiative to formalise a local maritime collaborative forum. Pakistan officially became member of IONS in 2014.
